Previously I was in a day job that I hated, and wanted to paint a picture to illustrate the feeling of relief at the end of the day, when you come home and you finally get some time to yourself. In 'Washing off another day' the washing is to symbolize cleansing one's self, and breaking free from the pressures of working life.
